Hot Spot: Jane Tranter | BFI Future Film Festival 2023 event - Accessible version

Jane Tranter is one of the industry’s most respected and celebrated television executives. A recipient of the Bafta Special Award for her contribution to television, Tranter previously served as the BBC’s Head of Fiction and was Executive Vice-President for Programming and Production at BBC Worldwide. In 2015 she founded production company Bad Wolf in Cardiff alongside Julie Gardner, with the purpose of creating ambitious, imaginative and relevant drama for the UK, US and Global TV markets. Bad Wolf is the result of over 15 years of creative collaboration between Tranter, Gardner and the production and creative community of Wales, which first began with the relaunch - and relocation to Cardiff - of Doctor Who in 2005, and this strong national identity remains at the heart of their work. Tranter’s credits include the multi-Emmy winning HBO series’ The Night Of and Succession; three seasons of the BAFTA award-winning His Dark Materials for BBC and HBO, two seasons of Industry for HBO and two seasons of the critically acclaimed BAFTA-winning Sky series I Hate Suzie. Production is currently underway on the 60th anniversary specials of Doctor Who for the BBC and the TV adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s The Winter King for Charter and ITV.
