Join geology professor Shawn Willsey as he investigates the Sevier Orogeny, a major mountain building event in western North America during the Cretaceous Period, about 80 million years ago. Learn how these highlands (now eroded) formed and how the high energy streams that drained the mountains shed large loads of sediment eastward.
