Video Shows Cyclist Struck by New Jersey Councilwoman In Hit-and-Run Incident

A shocking video shows the moment a cyclist attempted to cross an intersection when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle, whose driver apparently fled the scene. The incident occurred on July 19 in Jersey City, New Jersey. The driver who allegedly hit the cyclist was identified as 36-year-old Jersey City Councilwoman Amy DeGise. According to authorities, DeGise apparently did not attempt to slow down or stop when the crash occurred and kept driving. The cyclist thought he had a green light, which was later proven inaccurate by Jersey City authorities. The cyclist stated that he has suffered numerous bruises and pain all over his body from the incident. A spokesperson for DeGise stated that she will not step down from her position on the city council after citizens hosted a rally calling for her resignation on Saturday.
