The tournament’s field of competition comprises a combination of eight MLBB: Professional League (MPL) invited teams and eight teams that made the cut through regional qualifier events. To select the tournament groupings, the MPL-invited teams were split into two pools, while all eight regional teams were placed in one pool. During the draw, two MPL-invited teams were drafted — one from each of the MPL pools — while two regional qualifiers were added to complete groupings of four teams each. The group draft rules ensured that no teams coming from the same region are drafted into the same group.
