KITULO NATIONAL PARK (God’s Garden) - Iringa Known in Swahili as “Bustani ya Mungu” - God's Garden that is the name the locals call the Kitulo Plateau while botanists call it the Serengeti of Flowers, comparing it to the Serengeti National Park which is filled with huge varieties of animals. The Kitulo Plateau is filled with colorful varieties of flowers which blossom all year round. Formerly this beautiful place was known as Elton Plateau after Fredrick Elton discovered this area for the first time in 1870 and after being a sought after floral attraction for many tourists, in 2005 the Government officially declared Kitulo a National Park. 4. NDANDALO SUSPENSION BRIDGE “Daraja La Kiteputepu” - Kyela, Mbeya This is a wire bridge of width just sufficient for a person to cross. It joins the villages of Ndandalo and Ibungu of Mbeya and Kirwa region. Locals use this bridge for daily transportation either by foot, bicycle or motor bike and cross said bridge by turns and a waiting gap of ten minutes each before the next cross.
