ASUS A320M-C w/ AMD A12-9800 R7 - DOOM OpenGL vs Vulkan [INTRO]

In this short preview we analyse the performance of the upcoming AMD Bristol Ridge APU platform in the intro mission of DOOM. AMD has not official released the 7th generation APUs for the desktop market, but we still managed to get our hands on an entry level system - keep in mind, there is no official support or drivers for this board, so final performance could improve. Compared to our two SFF systems the AM4 board with the A12-9800 comes up with solid results, beating the 65W A10-7860K by a 20% margin. Yet again, AMD has a hefty boost using Vulkan over OpenGL. Intel's i3-6100 results are lagging behind, to say the least - with Vulkan the performance even shows regression ... The results in the bar chart diagram correspond to a slightly shorter segment of the intro mission, hence the somewhat lower numbers in the Frame Time Analysis overall results. 0:12 FTA 1:18 results CASE: Cooler Master Test Bench V1.0 PSU: Cooler Master Elite Power 600W MOTHERBOARD: ASUS A320M-C Micro ATX AM4 CPU: AMD A12-9800 3.8 Ghz/4.2 GHz GPU: integrated - AMD Radeon R7 Graphics RAM: Crucial 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400Mhz STORAGE: Samsung m.2 SATA 500GB SSD 850 EVO COOLER: CSL stock cooler A dedicated recording PC with a capture card was used to save the game footages and consequently no performance penalty was incurred on the reviewed systems.
