They are so named for the shape of their tail when spread in courtship display. The name also suggests a musician. 5. Usually they don’t like to fly and their wings are not so strong, so they’ll most likely run away from danger and use their wings to help them leap away. 6. Lyrebirds feed on insects, spiders, worms, small frogs and lizards, and occasionally seeds. 7. The lyrebird can live for up to 30 years, and it takes at least five years for it to be ready to reproduce.
