AKK FX2 Ultimate Review and Tests

AKK recently released their FX2 Ultimate video transmitter. It comes in two flavours - a classic style, and a stack-mountable version. This is a review of the stack-mountable version. It supports Pit Mode, as well as 25, 200, 500, and 1,200 mW output. It also supports Smart Audio, but to get it into 1,200 mW output you will need to use the button on the Vtx. My finding is that the vtx will not replace your lower output vtx for proximity freestyle flying (you'd be better off to invest your money in better antennas), however if you are looking for a vtx for your long-range rig, this is the one for you. For all tests I used a Lumenier AXII Stubby antenna. My comparison quad is my main freestyle quad - RealAcc X210 with an EWRF E709TM3 stack-mounted Vtx at 500mW. The other three tests were done on a RealAcc Martian II with the AKK Vtx set on F1 @ 500mW and 1,200 mW for first two tests. For the last test I changed channel to A1 which according to the review by Anik FPV, has an actual output in excess of 1,500mW. To record the DVR I used my Fatshark Dominator V3's, with an Eachine RX5808 Pro module, running Achilles Pro firmware. I run a Menace RC Invader patch and a RealAcc Pagoda on my goggles.
