UTEP Symphony Orchestra May 7, 2013: Themes from Jurassic Park

On May 7, the UTEP Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Lowell Graham, performed selections from various motion picture soundtracks. This piece was the finale, a medley of themes from John Williams' music for Jurassic Park. I'll update this description ASAP with more information about the concert and the performers. Shot with two cameras: Sony HDR-CX550V for the wide fixed shots, Panasonic GH3 with H-HS35100 35-100mm F2.8 lens for the close shots. Sony: AVCHD 1.0 1920x1080 60i 24 Mbps, GH3: AVCHD 2.0 1920x1080 60p 28 Mbps. Edited with Sony Vegas Pro 11. The GH3 footage is ungraded, the Sony was tweaked a bit in a failed attempt to color match. Both cameras used incandescent white balance. On the GH3, I shot with auto ISO (it was about 1600-2000 for most of the video), F6.3 (to get a bit more DoF), and 1/60th. Touch AF was used with the GH3 - continuous AF hunts too much. GH3 contrast and sharpness set to 0, saturation +1, NR +1. Audio was a Rode StereoVideo Mic into the Sony, audio level set to "low". I boosted the bass just a tad with Vegas. Vegas 11 does not require any special settings to combine 60p (60 frames/sec) tracks with 60i (30 frames/sec) tracks. I just left the Smart Resample on (I know, I know, many of you don't like Smart Resample) and set the Project interlace mode to Interpolate, which did a fairly good job of dealing the upper/lower stuff from the 550V.
