Meet Dr. Ana Belmonte, Division Chair for Forensic Psychology in the College of Professional Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. A licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona, Dr. Belmonte earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School and has extensive experience in forensic evaluation, assessment, and policy advocacy. Her clinical and research expertise includes competency/fitness to stand trial restoration, forensic assessment, and family law issues such as parenting capacity and child custody. She has worked extensively with both adult and juvenile forensic populations in criminal and civil courts. Dr. Belmonte completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Kane County Diagnostic Center, where she conducted psychological and risk assessments, sex offender evaluations, and pre-employment screenings for law enforcement. She has also served as the Director of Assessment and Research at The Chicago School Forensic Center and as Associate Director of the Outpatient Fitness Restoration Program—the largest program of its kind in Illinois, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). Beyond her academic and clinical leadership, Dr. Belmonte is deeply involved in professional service, currently serving as Chair of the Social Media Committee for the American Psychology-Law Society (APA Division 41) and Chair of The Chicago School Alumni Council.
