Follow these steps to remove and replace the display panel assembly for the HP Chromebook 14-ak000: Before you begin, remove the top cover and wireless module. For removal, with minimal force, lift the locking bar up on the display panel ZIF connector and disconnect the display panel ribbon cable from the system board. Remove the display panel cable from the metallic tape that secures it to display panel hinge. Detach the power connector cable and wireless antenna cables from the routing channel on the base enclosure. Remove the two 3 mm P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the display panel assembly to the base enclosure. Carefully lift the display panel assembly off of its alignment pins on the base enclosure and remove. For replacement, place the display panel hinges, alignment pins on the base enclosure and lower the display panel assembly into position. Replace the two 3 mm P1 Phillips-head screws that secure the display panel assembly to the base enclosure. Route the wireless antenna cables and power connector cable through the routing channel on the base enclosure. Insert the display panel ribbon cable into the display panel ZIF connector on the system board. Replace the metallic tape that secures the display panel cable to display panel hinge.
