Going back to Russia. Alone.

Today, i'm going back to Russia. It is September 2022, and today I am traveling on a 40 hour train from Almaty, Kazakhstan to Novosibirsk, Russia and then, all being well, taking a 5 hour bus on to Kemerovo, Siberia, my hometown. This is the first time I have been back to Russia in over 9 months (since January 2022), and the first time back in Siberia for more than 18 months. One of many big differences between this time and the last time we went to Russia is, I am alone. After what has seemed like a lifetime apart, I could not miss this opportunity (being so close) to see my family, especially my gran, who hasn't been in the best of health at all this year. Unfortunately Matt couldn't get visa for this trip, but I just felt that I had to go.
