Natalie is a PSW assigned to work with Mr. David Granevsky, an 84-year-old man. Mr. Granevsky lives in a subsidized apartment building at the corner of Steeles and Bathurst. His wife passed away three years ago from cancer. Mr. Granevsky moved to Canada from Israel 14 years earlier through the sponsorship program. Seven years ago, Mr. Granevsky and his wife moved into their apartment. While his wife was alive, they were coping well and managed to mostly live independently. Their daughter was their main support person. Their son lives in Israel and Mr. Gravevsky has infrequent contact with him. Mr. Granevsky suffered from depression after his wife’s death and required more support and assistance from his daughter. At that time, the PSW Natalie was assigned to assist Mr. Granevsky. Ten months earlier, he was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. A radical prostatectomy was completed 2 weeks ago. Mr. Granevsky was discharged home four days ago with a permanent Foley catheter. Natalie is scheduled to come twice a week to assist Mr. Granevsky with ADLs, household management and light meal preparation.
