Ever wondered which is best between the Princess Y95 and Princess X95? In this head-to-head walkthrough tour and review of the Y95 and X95, which share a hull and lower deck design, Jack Haines pinpoints how these clever platform sharing yachts, which have so much in common, feel very different on board. Both yachts share the same efficient wave-piercing hull design and the option to have 1,900hp or 2,000hp MAN V12s for a top speed of 24 knots and range of 2,000nm at 12 knots. Their lower decks are identical, too, with four ensuite guest cabins including two spacious doubles. From the main deck they are very different, especially on the top decks where the Y Class has a traditional top deck with a flybridge covered by an elegant hard top. The X95 has a fully enclosed upper salon, which leads out to open deck space aft. The different workings of the yachts and how they feel to live on board is remarkable.
