VW, AUDI, SKODA, SEAT Front Wheel Bearing

In this video I show you how I removed and fit a 72mm wheel bearing hub flange fitted to a Skoda Fabia Mk1 hatchback 03 1.9 TDI 72mm 256mm disc which is similar to some other VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda models. Skill & experience level needed: Very high (precision needed ) GEDORE Breaker bar: https://amzn.to/379TfVu Extra heavy Duty Grease https://amzn.to/3xWZXcd High performance bearing grease: https://amzn.to/3O12Q6z 72mm bearing removal Tool https://amzn.to/2VigWIz Please double check bearings for your exact model: FAG 72mm bearing kit: https://amzn.to/3fbTmV0 Febi Bilstein 72mm bearing kit https://amzn.to/3BYVauc SKF 72MM Bearing kit: https://amzn.to/375ZEkf How to remove a stubborn ABS wheel speed sensor:    • VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, BROKEN ABS WHE...   Dust guard bolts:    • Skoda Fabia  BRAKE DUST GUARD (99-07)   Please Like this video:👍    • Audi A3 KEY PAD REPLACEMENT   Please subscribe to this channel:👍 https://goo.gl/eubNMd Please share this video:👍    • Audi A3 KEY PAD REPLACEMENT   Follow me on Twitter:👍   / hatboyharvey   Buy Harvey a Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/hatboyharvey Gedore mechanics tools: https://amzn.to/3zR45Ma I thank all you guys for watching. Please let me know if this video helped you and what you think in the comments below and don't forget to like, share and subscribe for more escapades of HAT BOY HARVEY in the next video release, (Oh and he’s the rabbit in the video if you’re wondering) IMPORTANT NOTES A long bar was used to release the initial fusion tension between the wheel bearing and housing with the tool, but do not use this when installing the new bearing as the more controlled use of a standard wrench slowly and surely should be used . Coat the wheel bearing housing bore with Molybdenum Molykote grease G 052 723 A2 (sometimes included in fitting kit) high temp/high pressure. Do not tilt the wheel bearing while inserting, keep it perfectly straight and inline with the hub bore. This is the hardest thing to do and will take patience and gentle pressure. I found I needed to tap the bearing around evenly for quite a while until the bearing found it's path and I was confident the pulling tool would drive the bearing home. Pull the bearing into the bearing hub housing until the bearing meets the inner shoulder and the metal ring circlip is heard to click into position Do not grease the lock-nut thread on the drive shaft. Grease the propeller shaft spine only with polycarbamide grease Polycarbamide grease G 052 142 A2 take your time; this is a precision job not for the faint hearted. Below is a guide only to the manufacturers recommended tightening torque settings for this specific Skoda Fabia car, please check your own car's specific settings: Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI Mk1 72mm bearing Cover plate to wheel-bearing housing - 10 Nm Phillips head screw holding brake disc to wheel hub - 4 Nm Do not grease thread of the outer joint of the drive shaft - 50 Nm initial. Use a new twelve-point nut for the drive shaft to wheel hub. It is recommended NOT TO GREASE THE THREAD OF THE OUTER DRIVE SHAFT when applying a new nut only Twelve point outer drive shaft nut - 50 Nm + 45° with power-assisted steering. Re-check after approx. 100 miles New locking nut for track rod end to steering arm - 20 Nm + 90° bottom ball joint to bottom wishbone - Use new bolts and lock washer - 20 Nm + 90° FS-II brake caliper to wheel bearing housing - 25 Nm FS-III brake caliper to wheel bearing housing - 28 Nm The content of this video is for information and entertainment value only and it's creator makes no claims, promise or guarantees of it's accuracy, coverage, instruction or adequacy of the procedures contained therein.
