This 12.7-mile mostly downhill ride from the Myrdal Train Station to Flam Norway is one of the most popular cycling trails in Europe. Many cyclists take the train up, and enjoy biking or walking down. Almost immediately after leaving the station, the gravel path reaches a steep decent of 840 feet in 1-mile, beginning with a set of 20 switchbacks and hairpin turns that some of our group elected to walk their bikes down. The maximum grade is 30% and the average grade through the switchbacks is 19%. There were eight cyclists in our group on this eight-day Edelweiss E-bike Tour, the Kingdom of Fjords and Glaciers Tour. Our leader for the day, was Marko. He and the other tour leader, Noel, took turns driving the support van, so this was Noel's day to drive. Our morning on this particular day began with a 20.7-mile pedal from Voss Norway to the Mjolfjell Train Station where we loaded our bikes onto a train for the short trip through tunnels and along the fjord to the Myrdal Train Station. This video picks up there and pieces together many excerpts of the 12.7-mile ride down to Flam Norway. Please excuse the rain drops on the lense of my helmet mounted GoPro Hero 11 Black. Halfway through the sun came out a little and the scenery gets incredibly beautiful! Saving the best for last, don't miss the pictures of the fjord and scenes from Flam at the end. A big thank you to my wife Sandra, the three other couples that joined us on this tour, and especially Marko and Noel with Edelweiss E-bike Tours for making this an awesome adventure. They really worked hard for us! This video only highlights 12.7-miles of our 270-mile adventure, not counting ferry crossings and van shuttles through many miles of Norway's famous tunnels. So, please subscribe to our channel to be notified when I create another YouTube video for the remainder of this tour and Sandra's and my Cycle the Danube self-guided tour that followed this one.
