Alen Kopunović Legetin began his musical education in Subotica, and continued there until he left to study the organ. During his studies he served as permanent organist of the Children's Seminary Church on Šalata, as well as organist of St. Mark's Church in the Upper City. He received his diploma in 1997 from the University of Zagreb Music Academy, under professor Ljerka Očić. During the academic year 1998-1999, he perfected his skills with professor Elisabeth Ullman at the renowned Mozarteum University of Salzburg, and from 2004-2005 at the Papal Institute for Church Music in Rome. He studied liturgical music with maestro Valentin Miserachs, and the organ with maestro p. Theo Flury. In addition to his duties as Pontifical organist and choir director in the St. Theresa's Cathedral, he also served as organist and choir director in the Church of St. Lovro. In Croatia, A. Kopunović holds regular solo recitals and performs as soloist, accompanied by various orchestras (Zadar Chamber Orchestra, The Symphonic Wind Orchestra of Republic of Croatia Armed Forces), as well as at music festivals such as the Musical Evenings in St. Donat, Rab Evenings, Varaždin Baroque Evenings, Osor Musical Evenings, Makarska Summer Cultural Festival, St. Mark's Festival, and the Hefferer Organ Festival. He performs in literally all Croatian cathedrals. Among his foreign engagements, several merit special attention: Vienna (Schubert Church), Budapest (St. Matthew and St. Stephen's), Rome (St. Peter's Basilica), Belgrade (Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary), Kotor, Subotica (St. Theresa's Cathedral), Ljubljana (Philharmonic Hall), and Cardiff (St. David's Hall). In addition to the rich array of concert performances, he appears regularly on the Croatian Radiotelevision. As conductor, he has embellished the performances of numerous spiritual cantata and masses. He is also conductor of the Požega city choir, HKUD „Vijenac". In addition, A. Kopunović Legetin serves as a member of the Evaluation and Review Council, which presides over district and state organ competitions, and as organ instructor at the Music High School in Požega. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his artistic accomplishments; among the most prestigious are the Antuš Prize for the promotion of the culture of Bačka Croatians (1998 in Subotica), the Zagreb University Rector's Award (during his studies), and the yearly award of the city of Požega for his contributions to musical culture (2010).
