Findora Blockchain Course – Lecture 9: Consensus Protocols

In our ninth lecture of the Introduction to Blockchain Series, Ben talks about consensus protocols, more specifically Byzantine Fault Tolerance, state machine replication, Fundamental Impossibilities, and Network Synchrony Models. About Ben Fisch Ben Fisch is the co-founder and CTO of Findora. As a PhD student in the Stanford Applied Cryptography Group, he made breakthroughs in proofs of storage, accumulators, and secure computation. Ben is also the co-author of Supersonic, the world’s first practical, trustless zk-SNARK. Ben’s efforts in cryptography have made zero-knowledge circuits efficient enough for financial applications. Prior to Findora, Ben’s work contributed significantly to the core protocols of Filecoin, Chia, and Ethereum. Many of Ben’s research innovations drive Findora’s proprietary fintech toolkit.
