We mostly forget to switch off the lights and fans when we leave the room. This P I R motion sensor based gadget can solve that problem and save costly electrical energy. Moreover when we enter in a dark room we face problem in finding out the light switch for putting it on. If this P I R sensor based automatic light switch is installed, this inconvenience will disappear forever and when you enter the room, the light will glow automatically. In wash room if we want to maintain electrical safety and personal hygiene, this P I R based motion detection switch is the best gadget as it eliminates the need to put on the light switch manually which involves touching of the switch in wet hand and direct contact with switch which may be contaminated by other user. This switch is to be connected to a house hold switch board parallel to any switch of existing lighting load. When a person comes in the range of the P I R sensor the relay of the gadget activates and respective load is turned ON. There is an adjustable inbuilt timer inside the sensor, after which the relay gets deactivated automatically and light gets switched off. For this project we will require a P I R motion detection module, a 5/6 volt relay, a switch, a BC 547 / 548 transistor, an LED, a power supply module of 220 v ac/5 v dc, some wires and a plastic enclosure.
