The complex has four gateway towers, one on each side, which is also known as gopuram in the local language. The eastern tower is one of the tallest towers in India with a height of 66 metres. Adhirangam Ranganathaswamy temple or Ranganatha Perumal Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu located in Adhi Thiruvarangam in the Taluk of Sankarapuram, Tamil Nadu, India. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, it is believed to have been built by the Medieval Cholas, with later contributions from Vijayanagar kings.
