The demand comes as tensions in the northeastern state show no signs of easing, with opposition parties criticizing the Centre's prolonged silence and lack of direct intervention. During the same session, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal also responded sharply to remarks made by Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Waqf properties. “The temples are managed by the government and so is the Waqf.
