Gymnopedie, No. 1 by Erik Satie. I learned this piece many years ago, and it was one of the last I had finished learning before the pandemic. It's something I've performed at funerals, and something I've performed at home just for fun. In 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to have a very small amount of private lessons with Western University professor Stephan Sylvestre. This was one of the songs he helped me really bring to life, and I still read it off of the same papers he wrote all his suggestions and thoughts for me on. This piece means quite a bit to me, and I hope you enjoy.
