Hi everyone! Welcome to our Maldives adventure. After a long but exciting journey from London Heathrow, with a quick stopover in Doha, we finally arrived in the Maldives. The view from the plane as we approached Male was just breathtaking – tiny islands and sandbanks scattered across the bluest waters I’ve ever seen. Once we cleared Maldives immigration and found our resort rep, we hopped on a speedboat to Sun Siyam Olhuveli, just 30- 40 minutes away. The warm welcome we received as we arrived set the tone for our stay – think tropical vibes, cool towels, and big smiles. We stayed in a Deluxe Water Villa with a private Jacuzzi and direct access to the lagoon. The room was gorgeous, with stunning ocean views and enough space for our family to feel completely at home. My favourite part? The deck with its little steps leading straight into the crystal-clear water – it was pure magic for early morning swims! We spent our days soaking in the sun, sipping drinks at the Lagoon Bar, and exploring the resort. One evening, we discovered a spot behind the dive center where we could watch manta rays gliding in the water – it became our nightly ritual after dinner. Speaking of dinner, the food here was amazing! The Sunset Restaurant had so many options, including live counters and great Indian dishes. Oh, and let me tell you about the adult-only infinity pool – such a peaceful spot for relaxing while the kids played elsewhere ha ha. The mornings were for lagoon swims and making Instagram-worthy memories and if you have a water villa with a pool or a beach villa with a pool you can make it even special with a floating breakfast.
