April 2025 - our family stayed at the Tui Blu Atlantica Aeneas Resort in Nissi Beach, Ayia Napa, Cyprus. Highlights of this Cyprus hotel include its closeness to the beach, good WiFi, lots of pools, clean public areas and rooms, lots of bars. Our review: Rooms - we were in a family room with sliding doors between the double bed and the two single beds. The room was clean and the beds quite comfortable. There’s a bath/shower. The rooms includes tea and coffee making facility, fridge with some cans and a packet of crisps (first items are included in All Inclusive, after that payable). The tv had good selection of channels including sports and uk channels. There’s a small balcony. Our room was in block A which is the one closest to the sports courts and has 5 floors. Cyprus has UK sockets which is helpful. There are also a wide variety of other rooms, including swim up rooms with their own day beds. Personally the ground floor rooms weren’t private enough for us - they are often facing sunbeds or on a pathway. Bear in mind no air conditioning before May. Only slight complaint about the room was the lack of storage space and places to hang towels. Tip - when you arrive there should be pool towels in your room (pinky or peach coloured). You can exchange these for new towels any time in the indoor pool reception. Facilities - The pool action at this hotel is strong (except that they aren’t heated so pretty cold out of season). There are a few separate pools and one large one that has lots of little bays that make it feel more private. Lots of the swim up rooms face into these smaller areas though which feels a bit weird. There’s a cool kids area with a pirate splash set-up. It’s gated so safe for the little ones. There’s a small indoor pool but it gets super crowded on cloudy days. There are two swim up bars. The sports facilities here are good. There’s a squash court and tennis court which are free to play (racquets and balls provided). There’s an all-weather multi-sports court with goals and a basketball net. The gym is quite big and has a downstairs free weights area. There’s a permanent water polo net in the pool. There are two table tennis tables which are free to play. There are 4 kids clubs - babies and toddlers, 3-7, 7-12 and teens. The teen club was closed in April. With all the facilities we were a little disappointed with the activity programme for kids outside of the clubs. It was the equivalent of lawn darts. The only activity the kids really enjoyed was the football session every morning. There are daily exercise classes by the adult only pool for adults, like yoga, step class etc. There are a few adult only areas, including an area of the buffet restaurant, a terrace bar, a pool with its own bar. Food - overall the food in the buffet restaurant is pretty underwhelming. Breakfast has the potential to be good with lots of options but I don’t think I ever ate a fully hot breakfast. The pancakes are very nice with lots of topping options and there’s plenty of fruit and continental options. Lunch and dinner buffet were ok, but all the food was pretty meh. Most of it lukewarm. If you are a fussy eater there’s plenty of plain tasting pasta and pizza. Desserts are very nice I have to say. In terms of other restaurants we ate in the Green and Grill for our one night. The food here was excellent, really tasty. We didn’t bother with the Cyprus restaurant as it’s not al a carte. There is one snack bar as far as I could tell. They offer foods like chips, nuggets, chicken in pita bread, burgers, hotdogs, salads and sandwiches. The nuggets are very good. The inside bar serves cake in the afternoon. Entertainment - if you’re over 5 years old I wouldn’t rate the entertainment that highly. The entertainment staff work hard and do their best but it’s pretty shit-to-average. Might be better in summer when it’s warm to sit outside. The silent disco was good except that there’s no dance floor really so it was mostly people sitting at tables listening to the music and little kids down the front singing. Overall - even though this hotel looks good on paper, we were a bit underwhelmed with it. However I expect it’s better in high season when everything is in full swing.
