* Click the show more button below for more info and links* Mark Fisher will give a two-part presentation at B&H. Part One highlights Fisher's work as one of the most sought-after and published ski photographers in the world and, specifically, his work photographing the top professional skiers in one of the most demanding and beautiful natural environments, Alaska. Mark will not only showcase stunning and award-winning images but also tell the story behind the shot and talk about what it takes to work in environments such as Alaska. Part Two will focus on a recent ski expedition to 8014-meter Mt. Shishapangma in Tibet. In addition to the images Mark will present, he will also discuss the challenges behind working on an 8,000 meter expedition as the photographer and filmmaker, and also as an athlete. In addition to still images, Mark will show his short film: Ski Tibet. This film was shot entirely using Canon DSLR's. In addition to highlighting ski and expeditionary photography and filmmaking, Mark will be available to discuss gear, techniques and his approach to photography and filmmaking in general. Whether it's hanging from a Helicopter in the middle of winter in remote Alaska or skiing from 25,000 ft. in the Himalayas, Mark will not only highlight the spirit of adventure, but also the story behind the shot. This is surely a presentation not to be missed! Fisher has lectured at the prestigious Annenberg Center for Photography in Los Angeles, is a Fulbright scholar, a PDN 30 recipient, and has been featured in industry publications such as Photo District News, Digital Photo Pro, and Outside.
