Today we're going to be taking a look at part #BX8858. This is the Blue Ox trailer hitch receiver lock for 2-inch hitches. This is designed to lock your Blue Ox tow bar to a 2-inch receiver. It's made from a strong and durable construction. It's a nice steel construction with a protective finish that's designed to resist rust and corrosion. The pen diameter is going to measure 5/8 of an inch. This is designed to fit class III 2 inch x 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. It's going to come with 2 barrel style keys. The barrel style is unique and it's high pick resistant so those are great keys to have. The keys are going to be keyed alike so either key will work on the lock. Here on this end, we're going to have a nice dust cap that's going to protect the lock core from any type of dust and dirt. It's also going to limit the amount of moisture that gets into the lock core which is going to protect it from any type of rust or corrosion. Each end is going to feature a nice textured grip. That's going to make it easily operable in a lot of different elements or weather conditions. Taking a look at the overall length, measuring from end to end it's going to give us a measurement of about 6 inches. The inside pen length that we have to use is going to measure about 2-3/4 of an inch. Really easy system to operate. All you have to do is remove the dust cap. Place the key in. Give it a quarter of a turn and it's going to disengage this side from the pin. Now you can place it through your application. Again, it's going to have a diameter of 5/8 of an inch. Place the lock back on. Turn the key back the other direction and then place back on the dust cap. You're going to be ready to go. That's going to do it for our review of part #BX8858.
