As seen through the lens of my old Canon Cam Pantomime Theatre: The Lovebirds Tivoli Gardens - Copenhagen - July 2015 The Cast: - Cassander: a taylor who wishes his daughter married well - Columbine: his daughter, against his wishes, is more in love with Harlequin - Pierrot: a dimwitted servant in the Cassender household, to watch after Columbine, with whom he himself is infatuated. - Harlequin: in love with Columbine, infiltrates the household in different disguises, as an accountant, a music and dance teacher - Venus: Love goddess sails through, and rewards Harlequin with a wand that makes everyone thumble down. Just in time to help him make Cassander agree to his union with Columbine. She comes back to bless the union! Amor omnia vincit!!!! - Others: Taylor assistants The Chinoise Theatre is from the 1870ies, and has seen the performances of many Danish and International dancers. H.M. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, herself a ballet lover, is a frequent contributor to the costumes and decors of different pieces. Pantomine Theatre began in Copenhagen in the very first years of the XIX C, when an Italian and an English comedians settled in the City.
