I'm very excited to (finally!) announce that I played drums on the new Light The Torch album, 'You Will Be The Death Of Me', available worldwide on June 25th via Nuclear Blast Records.  For those that don't know, Light The Torch (formerly 'Devil You Know') is comprised of a super rad buncha SICK dudes (& musicians!) - Francesco Artusato, Ryan Wombacher, & Howard Jones. I was asked to do the drums for their new album in late 2019, & flew out to California to track with Josh Gilbert & Joseph McQueen in February of 2020. Very shortly thereafter, Covid-19 hit the states, & as a result the album release was pushed back.   In other words: I've been sitting on this news for quite awhile, & am super stoked that I can finally share it with you! Getting to do this album meant a whole lot to me - Howard Jones' work with Killswitch Engage was incredibly influential to me when I was growing up, & I've always been a huge fan of his. So getting to lay down some beats underneath his slammin' vocals was somewhat of a dream come true.  Additionally, while the overall drum performance is a bit more laid back than other albums I've done, the songs are incredibly well written. My only objective with the drumming was to play parts that worked for the overall compositions / style. The end result is a truly rad album that I'm incredibly humbled to be a part of. Lastly - Fran, Howard, & Ryan were all present when I did the drum tracking, & getting to know them all as people made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. Truly lovely gents. So yeah - my overall point is that I'm very thankful to have been asked to play on this album, am stoked with how it turned out, & hope you all will give it a listen when the time comes!  Also: Quick shoutout to Josh Gilbert & Joseph McQueen, cuz I had an absolute blast tracking with them. We did all the drums in 3 days, one of which was just dialing in sounds, & it was still one of the most laid back recording experiences I've ever had.
