Photography in the Rain - Why I love it

As you saw from my last video, my photography has been driven by the need for a therapeutic environment, but hand-in-hand with that is capturing the experiences in nature that I crave. There's nothing I enjoy more than the atmosphere of woodland and there's something quite special about the sound of rain on the leafy canopy, the shift in tone & colour, the glossy surfaces, the bouncing light and the oodles of atmosphere that heavy rain provides. It's not without it's challenges - taking photos in the rain can be awkward. I carry plenty of microfibre cloths in my bag to help soak of moisture when my camera isn't in use. A good umbrella is a must....
