Nyang-Nyang if you haven't yet gotten your fill of Bukit buckets, then continue on down to its south coast and check out Nyang Nyang To get there keep traveling on the road to the Uluwatu temple and stop somewhere in the vicinity of the Puri Bali Hotel. Nyang-Nyang (its name means "bumblebee)is an open coral reef that has fairly consistent waves Nov-April (Wet Season).can be checked out from atop the beach cliff there. Make sure you are stoked on the waves because it is a punishing and long hike down to the beach and later back up to your car. At the bottom of this cliff, you will find several surf breaks-all ridable and good on their special days-but the main wave here is a bowly righthander (a rarity in Bali) which on a favor-giving swell can give good walls and solid barrels. Because this coastline faces directly South, Nyang-Nyang catches nearly any swell Most of the time it is big. The best wind direction is from the north and the best wave direction is from the southwest. fast and closed out, so the best time to surf N-N is when the rest of Bali is relatively flat. Indeed, if it is flat at Nyang-Nyang, then you can basically forget about surfing in Bali, period, on that particular day. Southeast trades are onshore, and westerlies are sideshore, so early morning dawn patrols and after-rain glassy session are recommended here. Five-foot is max before closeouts.
