Here's how to use a sickle to cut long grass for whatever your reasoning. For me I like to cut long grass for my goat as well as trim the grass around other plants without damaging them. The sickle becomes an extension of my arm and I can control it with more precision than with a machine. I can get every blade of grass growing up the center of a bush or in-between flowers without any damage. It gets me outside, I get all my vitamine D for the day, I get exercise, and other benefits I mentioned and more.
