So when I started seeing the Onn 4K Streaming Box all over the place—just 30 bucks, running Android 14 with Google TV—I had to try it. And let me tell you… I was not disappointed. For the price, this little box packs more punch than it should. Plug it in, throw in the batteries for the remote, walk through the usual Wi-Fi and Google sign-in steps, and you’re good. The UI is clean and fast—Google TV has come a long way. If you’re already familiar with Android, you’ll be flying through it. That said… it’s got a lot of extra stuff. Ads. Recommendations. Bloat. It’s not awful, but if you’re like me and you want something clean and focused—you’re gonna want to tweak it. Which is where the fun begins. I used Surfshark, but you can use whatever you’re comfortable with. The setup also includes customizing the interface with Projectivy Launcher, and using Button Mapper to assign the remote's star button to instantly launch Stremio. It all works seamlessly once you get it dialed in. You’ll need a PC for a quick part of the setup—just to install Stremio and configure the Torrentio add-on. Nothing crazy, takes a few minutes. Once that’s done, everything syncs to the Onn box like magic (as long as you’re on the same network). One small gripe: there’s no extra USB port. So if you need more storage, grab a splitter (I linked one I use in the description). Easy fix. All in all, this little $30 box absolutely punches above its weight. It’s fast, it’s flexible, and it actually lets you take control—something that’s becoming rare with modern streaming devices. If you’re a casual streamer, it’ll do the job right out of the box.
