Please visit Larry Rinker Golf    / @larryrinkergolf   David Wright    / @wrightbalance   In the golf swing there are three ground reaction forces that are used in this order by almost every Tour player; lateral, rotary, and vertical. The lateral force peaks first, rotary second then lastly verticals kick in. We simply shift, rotate and jump. I have been using Wright Balance now for over six years to determine if someone is an upper, mid or low core player. Over 90% of my students have been upper core, 9% mid-core and only 1% low core. Mid core is your average Tour player swing with their hips rotated 40-45 digress at impact. Upper core has the least hip rotation at impact and low core has the most ala Dustin Johnson. Each core region uses these ground reaction forces in different percentages. Upper Core players use verticals the most and laterals the least. That's why we stand up, come out of posture and our hips are not very rotated at impact. (Me in picture above from the 1990's) Low core players use laterals the most and verticals the least. That's why their hips are the most rotated at impact and their weight is toward their heels at impact. (Can't jump very high from out of your heels) Mid-core players use all three ground reaction forces similarly.
