About Lebensessenz: Lebensessenz is a project of neoclassical/romantic/minimalist piano music created in 2004 by Newton Schner Jr. Born in Ponta Grossa/Brazil, the autodidact pianist had some experience playing other instruments in several bands/projects before choosing piano as the most important instrument of his musical/sentimental/spiritual expression. He has until now 12 albums, mostly self-released and some other available through labels such as Dunkelheit Produktionen (Germany) and Valgriind Records (Russia). Since 2010 Lebensessenz is playing live, having performed concerts in different (South)Brazilian cities such as Ponta Grossa/PR, Guarapuava/PR, São Bento do Sul/SC, Pomerode/SC, Timbó/SC and others, as well as in Germany, The Netherlands and Portugal. Mostly compositions are based on personal questions and on romantic literature. The musician decided to dedicate a whole album in memory of his father. He also created an album based on Schiller's "Die Räuber" and on Goethe's "Die Leiden des jungen Werthers". There are also compositions with references to Knut Hamsun, Leon Tolstoy, Fiodor Dostoievsky, Miguel Serrano, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner, Arthur Schopenhauer, Gerhart Hauptmann and William Shakespeare.
