This is my opinion based on what happened to me on that particular night. In my previous video in Vang Vieng, I showed the main reasons why people visit the town such as tubing, caves, amazing landscapes and a lively night life. Unfortunately, there is a dark side to Vang Vieng and that is the police. The police in Vang Vieng are extremely corrupt and think nothing of extorting big amounts of money from tourists who may or may not have made a purchase from one of the many happy bars that the police allow to operate in the area.
