The 'Austin Powers' LaserDisc has a reputation as one of the finest discs in terms of picture quality. It's rumoured to be even better than the DVD. True or false? Let's find out! Disclaimer: "You ripped the DVD digitally and obviously the LD has come from an analog signal. So your capturing is not an apple to apple comparison. It would be cool to see the comparison from the same output source, which are calibrated. So run the DVD/BD/UHD and LD to a Video processer that outputs everything to HDMI and do the capturing and comparison from there." (Robert Larsson) The DVD used is the Region 2 PAL disc from DFW (Dutch Filmworks). This is the second 'Austin Powers' release from the label. The very first, from 1997, was 4:3 pan & scan and featured even worse PQ. If I can find it (I long sold my copy, for it was unwatchable), I'll do a follow-up video.
