The Stealth irons are the newest offering from TaylorMade designed for the golfer looking for forgiveness and workability. Curated Expert Roger Flores put these clubs to the test at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Roger is a private golf instructor and high school golf coach. The clubs tested were standard length with Regular flex KBS MAX MT shafts. Straight away these clubs are aesthetically beautiful. They have a high launch due to the flex of the shaft, but would produce the same results in stiff shafts for higher swing speed players as well. Forgiveness in this club is exceptional across the entire clubface. The club is designed with what TaylorMade is calling Cap Back Design with Toe Wrap Construction, which creates a shift in weight to produce low CG (Center of Gravity). This increases distance, forgiveness, as well as feel. This is also part of the design that produces a high launch and excellent trajectory. TaylorMade has used what they call Progressive Cone Technology to create an extremely forgiving face with very fast ball speeds. There is also what they are calling an ECHO Dampening System, which uses a soft polymer to remove any harsh feeling on poor impact, which helps reduce the likelihood of feeling some elbow pain after a round. A Speed Pocket along the sole of the club allows for misshits low on the face not to be so harsh and continue to get the ball down the fairway with great results. Although it might not be as workable as a forged blade, this game improvement club has more workability than most, which is one of its best attributes. This is a club that would look completely natural in a Players bag. A drawback for some players might be its thicker topline but it doesn't take away from its elegance.
