President Bush drives pick-up through sage of the hills of his ranch in Crawford, Texas STORYLINE: Under rainy skies in south central Texas, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife arrived at the US Presidential ranch in Crawford, Texas. Mr. Putin flew into an airport just outside of Waco, Texas. He was greeted by a crowd of local people who had come out to see the Russian President. In response, President Putin walked over to the crowd and shook hands with several people who were waiting along the fence. He then helicoptered to the Bush's ranch about twenty minutes from Waco. As the helicopter was landing at the Crawford ranch a gentle rain began to fall over the area. President Bush and wife Laura greeted Russia's first couple with umbrellas and then stood for photographers near the helicopter before retreating inside a pick up truck. President Bush explained that he was going to show his Russian counterpart the Crawford ranch. He also complimented Mister Putin on bringing the rain to Texas, something had has been sorely needed in the south central Texas area.
