This video covers a basic explanation of three steps that I sometimes take to tidy up simple audio recordings: noise reduction, equalization, and reverb. I use Adobe Audition software in these examples, but the same concepts can be applied to every other DAW, from Audacity (free) to more complex professional audio editing software such as Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, Sonar, Logic, Soundforge, DP, and so on. I referred to a couple of audio files in the tutorial. Here's a download link to those files (plus a copy of "When I Grow Old") which is a free download. Right-click on this link to download a compressed folder in RAR format. If you don't know how to unpack a RAR archive, download WinRAR for windows, or if you have a Mac, get a program like Unarchiver or UnRarX or Rar Extractor or Rar Expander or Zipeg: http://www.djbolivia.ca/tutorials/sim... Here's the link to the blog post which describes this particular tutorial: http://djbolivia.blogspot.ca/2015/01/... Here's a link to another more detailed video that I did which goes through the process of recording voiceovers, and doing some other basic processing: • Audio Recording #10 tutorial with Jonathan... Unfortunately, as of early 2015, YouTube annotations are still not visible to all mobile viewers. I use annotations quite frequently to post clarifications and additional information during the video. For the best educational experience, you might prefer to watch this video in a desktop browser rather than on mobile, unless YouTube eventually fixes the mobile annotation deficiency. On a side note, I get a lot of requests from people who want me to review their DJ mixes. Unfortunately, I am extremely busy. I'm already turning down paid projects, and I don't have time to review mixes. I wish it was otherwise.
