The objective of this initiative is to protect endangered languages for the next generations. The I AM project reminds us that human beings and nature are connected and cannot be separated. WORLD HERITAGE The general consensus is that there are between 6,000 and 7,000 languages currently spoken and that between 50% and 90% of them will have become extinct by the year 2100. The 20 most common languages, each with more than 50 million speakers, are spoken by 50% of the world’s population, but most languages are spoken by fewer than 10,000 people. An endangered language or moribund language is a language that is at risk of disappearing as its speakers die out or shift to speaking other languages. It is a typical agglutinative language that relies on suffix chains in the verbal and nominal domains. While there is a basic word order, subject–object–predicate, ordering among noun phrases is relatively free, as grammatical roles are indicated by a system of about eight grammatical cases.
