30.9.24 off to daisetsuzan again, this time down further to asahidake. could have stayed overnight but there's the trouble of carrying your luggage around and also there'd be nothing to do at night but sleep - in asahikawa there'd be more options for food and shopping so we made that our base. thankfully we only had to take a straight bus from asahikawa to asahidake for this day as the timing was alright. remember to queue early though!! blessed with amazing weather again 🥹 and despite it being more crowded than kurodake, asahidake with its majestic peak and surrounding ponds was even more beautiful all around and felt otherworldly to explore✨ i would choose asahidake if i only had one choice haha. sounkyou was still really pretty though and has a chairlift which was fun to ride. had some time after lunch to walk around the village area before starting to line up for the last bus around 3PM... the bus frequency is really low lol so definitely check the bus schedule to plan your trip there. there were so many people waiting for the bus that the bus captain brought another colleague to drive a 2nd bus after the 1st was totally filled (last 2 seats were taken up by us haha damn clutch). props to them for having that foresight 👍 was lowkey thinking whether we needed to book a last min overnight stay in case we couldn't get on the bus LOL after returning to asahikawa we collected our luggages and took a train back to sapporo, where we took a queue number for nemuro hanamaru and went to check in at our hotel and walk around the malls while waiting for the table - it ended up taking close to 2 hours?! sushi was shiokkk though, maybe it's just some placebo effect but it tasted really special and fresh. the staff were really friendly too and spoke english :") was amazed by the machine she used to count the sushi plates. bonus last clip of me being v entertained by the shower in hotel forza, there were so many functions, this must be what it's like to be a spaceship operator 🤣 bgm credit: laufey - dreamer    • Laufey - Dreamer (Official Audio)   laufey - promise (instrumental by fakeyoke)    • Laufey - Promise [Karaoke]
