Lodgepole Campground is located along the Taylor River in the Gunnison National Forest near Almont Colorado. County Road 742 separates the campground from the river which deters many people from camping here. We did not notice many vehicles passing by in the middle of the night when we stayed there. ** Note: There is another Lodgepole Campground in Colorado, located in the Pike National Forest. Be careful when making reservations. Directions: From Almont Colorado, travel 14.1 miles on Gunnison County Road 742 (Taylor River Road).
