BRUR Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah is a man of many more capabilities. He is a professor of Public Administration of University of Dhaka . He was the Pro-vice Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He was the former Chairman (2006-2009) of the Department of Public Administration of University of Dhaka.. He is a Resource Person and former Director – in – Charge (2009. 2011) of Japan Study Center, University – of Dhaka. He is the, founder & Chairman of JANIPOP – Jatiya Nirbachon Parjabekkhon – Parishad (National Election Observation Council), which become the leading poll monitoring body in Bangladesh. He was the Editor – in – Charge of The Asian Age & Vice President of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka. Now he is the Advisory Editor of The Daily Deshlal and Board _ Member of Alliance Francaise der Dhaka. Noe he is the advisory Editor of The Daily Deshkal and Board Member of Alliance Francaise der Dhaka. Professor Kalimullah completed B. S S (Hons) in 1980 and M.S.S in 1981 from the Department of Public Administration, University of Dhaka. Under Commonwealth Scholarship, he complted M. Soc. Sc in 1985 and obtained Ph. D in Development Administration in 1980 from the University of Birmingham, UK. In1997, he completed Post Doctoral Research on development Studies from the University of Bath. UK under the Commonwealth Fellowship. Under the sponsorship of Ford Foundation, he received advocacy fellowship & obtained certificate on Social & Justice advocacy 1998 from the Advocacy Institute, Washington DC, USA. He also completed Post Graduate Diploma on Journalism from the PIB – Press Institute of Bangladesh. For his significant contribution in Domestic and International Election Observation, Professor Dr. Kalimullah was awarded Atish Dipankar Gold Medal in 2007 and Legislative Fellowship of USA State Department in 2011. As an international election observer he has monitored elections in USA, UK Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Zambia, Naigeria, Egypt, Nepal, Pakistan, Hong Kong (especially administered zone of the People’s Republic of China) & Democratic Republic of Timor Leste. He has more than hundred academic publications. He is also an editor of a number of academic journals. He regularly contributed to daily newspapers and attends in TV talk- shows.
