Shahjahan Siraj - The flag of Bangladesh was designed by us. Even that was also a subject to the decision of Serajul Alam Khan. But we are not aware of any direct oreder. Kazi Aref Ahmed might be acknowledged. I proposed the red circle of the flag. Abdur Rab proposed the green background. Marshal Moni supported that. In the mean time Kazi Aref Ahmed proposed something very different which was bizarre to me at first. He proposed the map of East Pakistan to be included in the flag. I asked the reason. Aref explained that to avoid any tagging we must clarify that we want only this area. I was very happy with that explanation. Along with some other students, Enu was also informed about the flag. Now some people are propagating the history by saying that Shib NARAYAN DAS made the flag. We asked to bring him after deciding everything. We sent Khashru to manage the needed cloth. After getting the flag sewed completely we were in need of an artist to draw the map. SWAPAN CHOWDHURY brought him to us. Then he drew the map on the flag. [incomplete] We formed the the PONAROE FEBRUARY BAHINI in remembrance of Sergeant Zahurul Haq. This was later named the JAI BANGLA BAHINI
