The resulting run is from running the algorithm for about 2 days. Still not near top human performance, but significantly improved since version 1. Improved algorithm since part 1 (    • Super Mario Bros (NES) automated TAS(a bad...   ) The first versions' solution often got "stuck" in the middle of a level, it did not care about how fast it was progressing, and so it died from time running out and took many iterations to get "unstuck". Using many tricks, it's now faster both in the end result, and the rate of improvement. The major ones are: 1. New random actions are biased towards what has worked earlier in the run(mostly more likely to select RIGHT and JUMP) 2. Use saved game states to avoid starting from the beginning each time it dies. 3. Any part of the current TAS(after the saved state) can be replaced if the progress per time unit is higher(eg. found a faster "route" in some part of the level), instead of just replacing based on end result of progress 4. Remove last part of TAS if no improvement has been made for X tries, this significantly improves fixing parts where "false" progress is made, like jumping down a cliff while the screen is still scrolling right Python and gym-retro are used. https://openai.com/blog/gym-retro/
