Downgrade using Time Machine Hopefully, you made a backup of your Mac with Time Machine before you upgraded to Sequoia. Now, follow the steps below. If you have an Intel-based Mac: Turn off your Mac and hold Command-R when powering up If you have an Apple Silicon Mac: Turn off your Mac and hold down the power button 1. When the startup options screen appears, click Options 2. Click Restore from Time Machine – Continue 3. Choose the backup you want to restore from 4. Click Restore 2. Downgrade using recovery mode This method only works for Intel-based Macs: Shut down your Mac Hold down Shift-Option-Command-R when powering up Release the keys when you see the Apple logo Click Reinstall macOS 3.
