The last video got taken down. Here's a more extended, better version anyway. Police officers from Newcastle are confronted with a knife in the suburb of Hamilton South. On 23/06/2020 in the afternoon, two Officers responded to a call on Fowler St. They were approached by a public person while parking on the road; the person produced a knife and moved forward to the Police vehicle. The Offender, not named by Police, starts yelling expletives towards the Officers while standing on the street with a knife. A crowd already present on the road became rowdy when the Officers pounced on the Offender with the knife. One group member has already stepped out and involved himself in the situation, holding an opened container of alcohol. Both Officers drew their firearms and yelled out commands to drop the weapon, and the Offender failed to follow those commands. That's when the two Officers swooped into action. One Officer used his firearm to Pummel the Offender on the head to subdue the threat. At this point, the Officers have two 'person of interest' POIs, and the body-worn video Officer is seen shoving the second Offender away. They were commanding the Offender to stay back and move away from the arresting Officer. However, the second Offender didn't compile with the demands and was sprayed with O/C or capsicum spray.
