The Comeback for the ages - Serena Williams, aged 30 was sidelined for the end of 2010 due to a serious foot injury which led to a pulmonary embolism and blod clots in her lungs in 2011. On the long road to recovery, including continuing loses and injuries, Serena kept fighting. After losing in the first round of a slam for the first time at the 2012 Roland Garros (French Open), Serena changed another gear mentally, using that loss as her motivation to power through a tough draw and matches at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, taking both the signles and doubles titles before wining gold in the London Olympics and the US Open. This is a testament to her the illness that nearly ended her life and the loss that could have ended her career, yet instead she fought through both, winning a career defining 5th Wimbledon which relaunched her career and brought her back to PEAK level! The GOAT in every sense of the word!
