Walk around Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁 4K Seoul, South Korea

Back in Oct, we took an amazing trip to explore Seoul Korea. While it did not go exactly to plan (we got very ill), we still managed to explore several places. By the time we went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace we already explored a few other palaces, shrines, and temples. I have heard other people talk about getting “temple-ed out” and for me this was not the case. But we had lost 5 days of exploring due to illness, I was more conscious of how we spent our time. I was keen to go here to view the changing of the guard and figured a short wander around would be enough. I was wrong. This palace is incredibly special and all the people (locals and tourists) who were wandering around in their traditional hanbok made it feel like you were catching glimpses through a time portal. Gyeongbokgung Palace was built by Yi Seong-gye as the official palace of the Joseon dynasty. Commonly referred to as the Northern Palace it is thought to be one of the most beautiful and largest of the 5 palaces in Seoul. The Hyangwonjeong Pavilion captured my heart, as is clearly evidence by the amount of time and angles I filmed it from. The lines and the large waving leaves in the pond that surrounded it gave it an air of serenity which mean we just sat and watched it for a long time. The library was a surprise, and I would love to sit in one of the round windows and just read for hours. I was shocked by how many people were there studying despite the long line of tourists and travellers that wandered through the building. I hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed our visit. If you are ever in Seoul even if you are temple-ed out this one is worth a visit. If anyone knows what plant is in the pond (large waving leaves) are please tell me in the comments.
