Since 2005, the nation’s best sports have come together in St. Louis for the Musial Awards, the most meaningful and inspiring night in sports. Named for Stan Musial, a sports icon who embodied class and kindness, the Musial Awards recognize the year’s greatest moments of sportsmanship in North America and honor legendary sports figures who personify its virtues. Past award recipients include Arnold Palmer, baseball hall of famers Joe Torre and Cal Ripken Jr., women’s basketball star Tamika Catchings, U.S. tennis player Jack Sock, Little League World Series sensation Mo’ne Davis, sportscaster Ernie Johnson, and Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee. The 2017 Musial Awards took place on November 18 at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. The awards show spotlighted nine remarkable stories of sportsmanship plus Jackie Joyner-Kersee receiving the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award. Proudly continuing a partnership with KSDK-TV 5 On Your Side, the 2017 Musial Awards aired on St. Louis’ NBC affiliate. The broadcast was produced by St. Louis-based Onyour6 Productions in association with the St. Louis Sports Commission and the National Sportsmanship Foundation. The 2018 Musial Awards will take place Saturday, November 17 at Peabody Opera House in St. Louis.
